We provide a comprehensive range of Community Support Services, offering guidance, information, and referrals. Our focus is on BAMER groups who encounter barriers or face challenges, aiding them in achieving as much independence as possible in their lives. 

Our team of qualified and professional advisors is dedicated to working collaboratively with you. We aim to create a personalised support package that addresses your unique needs, focusing on finding solutions that resonate with you and your situation.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide both short-term and long-term assistance tailored to individual needs. This could range from offering immediate advice and information, to providing more extensive support for issues that may require a longer resolution period. 

We extend our services to individuals, vulnerable adults, and families, helping them navigate through various aspects of life. This includes access to health and social care, exploring housing options, understanding welfare benefits, and providing support for disabled individuals. We pay particular attention to those with long-term conditions such as mental health issues and learning disabilities. 

Our community support service sessions are designed to be flexible and accessible. They are delivered through a variety of platforms including group workshops, one-on-one sessions, drop-in services, and awareness sessions featuring guest speakers. We also utilize various communication channels such as telephone calls, social media groups on STN, STN Slack groups, email, leaflets/newsletters, mailouts, and signposting. 

Our trustees, staff, and volunteers all come from the local community.

At STN, we are staunch advocates for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion. We stand as a beacon of support for vulnerable individuals and families in our community who are experiencing, or are at risk of experiencing, discrimination. Our focus is particularly on those who may face prejudice based on their race, age, disability, gender, or sexual orientation, including members of the LGBTQ+ community. 

Our mission is to foster an environment where everyone feels valued and respected. We strive to empower individuals and families, boosting their confidence and enabling them to stand up against discrimination. Through our support, we aim to help them not only achieve but also maintain a state of equality and empowerment. We believe in the strength of diversity and the power of inclusion, and we work tirelessly to uphold these values in our community. 

Who our Organization Serves

Our organization is deeply rooted in the local community, with our trustees, staff, and volunteers all hailing from the area. This local connection allows us to better understand and cater to the unique needs of our community. 

To ensure we cater to a diverse community, we offer our provisions in multiple languages including English, Arabic, French, Urdu, Turkish, and other community languages. We believe in inclusivity and strive to make our services accessible to all. 

Beneficiaries of our services are welcomed into a warm, multicultural environment that celebrates diversity. Our professional team is dedicated to providing support in a friendly atmosphere, fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity.
