SM is a vulnerable adult living with a disability who was keen to work but felt held back by several challenges. His CV was out of date, he lacked the certificates employers often ask for, and he didn’t feel confident applying for jobs on his own.

When SM came to us, we offered free one-to-one support and stuck with him every step of the way. Together, we rewrote his CV from scratch, practised interview questions, and helped him build confidence. We also supported him to enrol with us in short online courses like Food Hygiene and Health & Safety, to boost his qualifications.

When a local school advertised a job, we helped SM complete the application form and write a strong supporting letter. We provided a reference—and he got the job! SM now works at the school helping supervise children during lunch breaks and supporting the caretaker team.
