At STN, our community advocacy is all about empowering you to take charge of your life. We help you engage actively in decisions that affect you, access vital information, explore various choices and options, understand your human rights, and support you in living the life you envision. 

Responding to Increasing Challenges

Recently, we’ve observed a significant rise in cases of discrimination and injustice. Many individuals, particularly women, are facing daunting challenges:

  • Domestic Violence: Women are increasingly confronting domestic violence, often compounded by limited access to public resources due to their legal status.
  • Unfair Treatment: There is a growing number of cases involving unfair treatment by employers, landlords, and in situations leading to homelessness.

Strengthening Support through Partnerships

To address these escalating issues, STN has forged partnerships with Law Centres and is collaborating with a group of professional solicitors specializing in areas critical to our beneficiaries’ needs. These areas include: 

  • Immigration: Providing legal guidance and support in navigating the complexities of immigration law.
  • Housing: Offering solutions and advocacy for housing-related issues.
  • Domestic Violence: Ensuring those affected by domestic violence receive the legal support and protection they need.
  • Welfare Rights: Advocating for and defending the welfare rights of our beneficiaries. 

Our goal at STN is not just to offer temporary relief, but to provide long-term, sustainable solutions that empower our beneficiaries to overcome these challenges and lead fulfilling lives.
