This course introduces the principles of food hygiene and food safety and is suitable for anyone with limited experience of food safety and is required to work with food. If you are directly involved in the preparation of food you should also complete level 2.
By the end of this course you will know:
What is meant by food hygiene
The consequences of poor food hygiene
The types of food safety hazards
The steps to take when handling food at work
The meaning of fitness to work and how to comply with it
About food poisoning and food allergies.

You are required to work your way through each section of this course. At the end of the tutorial, there will a short test comprising a series of questions to test your understanding of the content. To pass the test you must achieve at least 80%.
This e-learning tutorial only provides awareness education. Face to face training would be needed in addition in order to complete the all-round skills and knowledge to be able to carry this forward practically in your organisation.
This course is not a formal RQF food safety & hygiene qualification, the levels indicate the type of course so that businesses can choose whom it is suitable for.
