Entry requirement
There are no specific entry requirements however
Minimum Age 16 and more
Learners should have a minimum of a level two in English and Maths or equivalent.
This qualification is for those already working as a nursery worker, youth worker or that have completed either the Award or Certificate course and wish to enhance their careers further.
This is a work-based course that requires workplace assessment. Learners taking this diploma will need to be working or volunteering in a nursey/yearly years setting environment as they will need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.
There may be a requirement, by their employer, for learners to be checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
They should also have attention to detail and be willing to work in a team environment, whilst also being willing to work using their own initiative when required.
Assessments
This is a portfolio-based qualification, you need to complete all the coursework and your work will be assessed by your personal tutor and assessor who will give you feedback on written assignments and using variety of different assessment methods such as observations, professional discussions, evidence products and you need to pass all the assignments and observation to achieve the full qualification framework.
Career Path
This qualification is designed for candidates who are looking for a career within the childcare education sector, focusing on supporting children’s learning and development. Upon completion of the course will be able to continue as a senior nursery worker, Supervisor in nursery, infant or junior schools, special schools, primary/secondary schools or independent schools and progress to a supervisory role.
