Skills and Training Network offer a series of courses designed to improve the basic academic skills of people who do not have access to mainstream educational training services. We have accredited Functional Skills courses in English, Maths and ICT at all levels.
If you are a native English speaker but need help to improve your everyday reading, writing, spelling, grammar, punctuation, speaking, listening and vocabulary we have courses to suit. All courses follow the Functional Skills English Core Curriculum.
These courses will improve your mathematics skills to help you gain a nationally recognised qualification from Beginner to Level 2 grades. All courses follow the Functional Skills Mathematics Core Curriculum.

- Level 1 (Intermediate)
- Level 2 (Advanced)
Level 2 pass students who want to further develop their English reading and writing skills will be referred to an Adult Literacy for ESOL class at their local college.
INFORMATION & COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY (ICT):
The STN course is an introduction to the world of computing and is designed for complete beginners who have little or no experience with computers. We will teach you how a computer works and how to operate one with confidence; understanding the basic hardware, internet access, productivity programs and email.
